Majorca Luxury Accommodation.
With so much choice of Mallorca Luxury Accommodation, it’s enough to give you a headache! Is the most expensive necessarily the best? No definitely not I would say. Should it be five star? Maybe, but bear in mind there are some fantastic four star hotels worth considering too! (covered in a future blog). My article is designed to help you make your choice.
Boutique Hotel Calatrava
Gran Hotel Son Net
Choosing your luxury Accommodation
You’ll probably first be taken in by hotel setting, outside appearance and décor of rooms.
If this place is going to be home for a while want surroundings to be pleasing on the eye.
Do you favour more older, traditional Spanish styled interiors or ultra modern, minimalist design? Making sure you’re going to feel right in your environment is obviously important.
But don’t forget also to consider the location and facilities of your Mallorca luxury accommodation.
Echoing Phil and Kirstie’s sentiments it really is all about location. In fact it’s probably the most important factor.
Yes, the quality, style, build and interior design SHOULD all speak volumes to you when making your selection. Both in the public areas and individual bedrooms, suites or private villa.
However beautiful the hotel is though, you are unlikely to stay within your four walls the entire time. So you have to like your holiday surrounds.
Stay somewhere that provides easy access to your chosen activities. It won’t be such a relaxing break if you have to travel half way across the island to get to them.
Is the surrounding area suitable for your needs? For instance, is the surface suitable for a wheelchair, pram or mobility scooter?
Make time to read the reviews
Read other peoples reviews. You can read reviews on almost every hotel in Majorca and every other hotel on the planet on Trip Advisor. But this isn’t the only website offering Majorca hotel reviews. There is also Review Centre, Oyster.com, Booking.com to visit for customer reviews.
Mallorca Luxury Accommodation Facilities
You probably have at least one indulgent luxury aspect you won’t be prepared to forgo.
Maybe it’s peaceful surroundings in a relaxed setting. Maybe you want a view to die for. Or perhaps you need a crème de la crème mattress that you melt into and awake feeling a million dollars.
It is unlikely that even the most expensive hotel on the island will indulge you every single luxury facility or feature you are looking for. The place you finally decide on should however deliver most of, if not all of your requirements.
Priortise your hotel facility needs
Maybe your Mallorca luxury holiday is all about sheer relaxation and you don’t want to stray far from your hotel. If this is the case then it’s all about getting the hotel’s setting and facilities right. Make sure your chosen hotel has all your chosen extras on hand to enjoy your stay.
Do you need a luxury spa or well equipped gym, yoga and pilates classes? A hairdresser or beautician or perhaps an outdoor saltwater pool and cocktail bar? Do you want peaceful luxury adult only accommodation which is adequately soundproofed? Or a hot tub on your own private roof terrace. Or do you need to do business while there with a space to work, plus high speed, reliable wi-fi? (See Majorca Mallorca business blog)
Mallorca luxury Hotels: Room types
Booking.com is a great website to see all available room types for your Mallorca luxury accommodation. Once you click in to a chosen hotel for specific dates, you will see the different room types available for your dates.
Click on any room to see exactly what it looks like. Look at as many images of different room types on as many websites possible. Know what you’re getting before you arrive. This way you won’t feel disappointed or let down.
And if you book a room with a view, it should be one that makes you smile. So make sure the hotel description makes it clear about the view to expect-and everything else.
Booking.com is one of the best, if not the best hotel website for outlining your individual room facilities.
Luxury Hotel Facilities
Scroll a bit further down and you will also see overall facilities offered at your choice of luxury hotel.
Booking.com will also give you the proximity of major landmarks. What it is not so good at is giving you knowledge and activities of the immediate area. But it is an accommodation booking website and not a tour operator after all.
Professional Assessment and star rating
It’s a dead cert that any Mallorca luxury hotel awarded the coveted 5 stars has been assessed in depth by external professionals. Quality of build (internal and external), fixtures and fittings, facilities, staff and general ambiance all play an overall part in the star rating award. At least we can rest assured that any 5 star Mallorca luxury Accommodation has been declared so for good reason
Reviews and Ratings
Then there are the reviewers such as us. The hotel has to stay constantly well reviewed to maintain its reputation and 4 or 5 star rating. But for every person who’s given their Mallorca luxury accommodation a loving review on Trip Advisor, there will be someone else who dislikes the accommodation for those very reasons! It obviously all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day.
Dining at the hotel or in the vicinity
If your Mallorca luxury Accommodation only offers bed and breakfast, are there some good restaurants close by? Do they serve the kind of food you love to eat and what are their opening hours?
Most Mallorca luxury accommodation DO have good quality restaurants on site. Some have restricted opening during winter months though, so check this out before booking.
If you are taking a winter break, Palma is always a safe bet. There’s a high volume of both quality hotels and restaurants which open all year round.
One thing we can probably all agree on is that tip-top service and amenities should be part of the overall experience. It’s just a matter of finding the amenities that suit you personally and reading between the lines in the reviews
Genuine not stuffy
Some hotels are stuffy, snobby and too exclusive for their own good. This isn’t the making of a luxury hotel. After all just because your not dripping in diamonds doesn’t mean you don’t have cash to spend. Good hotels are staffed by down to earth people with inbuilt customer service skills. They have a natural mission is to go above and beyond to please the customer and treat all guests equally. If you are polite to them they will go out of their way to make your stay as special as possible.
So here goes:
My choice of the best Mallorca luxury Accommodation!!

Words that come up time and again in the reviews are ‘relaxing’, ‘calm’ and ‘quiet’
Negatives abouut Can Simoneta
The junior suites at Can Simoneta are criticized in reviews for being too low comfort for the price.
In the winter this location could be a little bleak.
Canyamel as a place, can feel a little cut off as you have a tributary that leads to the beach.
Although neighbouring areas are very close as the crow flies, you have to go a couple of kilometres inland first (along the Ma 4042) to access them
CAP ROCAT luxury Majorca Mallorca Hotel
Cap Rocat 5 star Hotel
Carretera d’Enderrocat s/n

Excursions to do from Cap Rocat
Try the town of Santanyi for starters.

The same sandstone that the Santanyi houses are made from were used to build Palma Cathedral and the Castle of Bellver, two major tourist attractions of Palma
Visit Santanyi on Saturday if you like hustle and bustle as it is market day. Take lunch at Es Coc in Santanyi where the cuisine is Mallorca dishes with a twist. Es Coc scores 4/5 on trip advisor
On the way to or back from Santanyi make a slight detour to Campos. Patisserie Pomar in the main square has the reputation of being one of the best patisseries in Majorca. Campos is also famous for it’s cheese so why not pick some up while you’re there. To find these businesses open, be sure not to visit during siesta.

More than one review said that although the Cap Rocat is an expensive hotel, it is worth every penny.
On booking.com website, the location scored 9.8, just 0.1 less than Can Simoneta
Only one minor review regarding a food order from Cap Rocat’s private beach, the service was described as slow and sloppy by one reviewer. Also the private beach is not so great for sunbathing because it is uneven
The reviews generally on Trip Advisor and Booking.com are absolutely fantastic!

Also note that reviews say parking is limited. Make sure you reserve a space. Someone scratched their car getting in/out as the entrance/exit to parking facility is narrow. Maybe they weren’t such a good driver-who knows?
